Paintings

This painting stages the selfie as a fragmented encounter with the self. Through three mirrors and multiple reflections, the figure does not arrive as a single coherent image, but as something dispersed, repeated, and slightly unstable. Each reflection offers a different version: partial, enlarged, displaced, or re-framed. What emerges is not self-knowledge in any straightforward sense, but a more complicated awareness of how identity is constructed through looking, posing, and mediation. The painting draws a line between older traditions of self-portraiture and the contemporary logic of the selfie, where the self is continuously produced through surfaces, angles, and acts of selection.
